#2: SKILLS

-Technical/Tangible Skills-

a variety of A/V skills.

  • Specializes in live sound, owns a full sound system, and has minor electricity knowledge.
  • Ran, Built, and Maintained the "Atlas Theater" for 3 years. Developed DIY lights and stage for space as well as built a DIY art gallery space.
  • Minor skills in lighting and lighting design
  • Minor set design skills

PRODUCER.

  • Seven plus years of production experience, both while working with large organizations and in a DIY capacity.
  • Has developed and pitched more than fifty events, with about thirty becoming fully funded and produced.
  • Has a large database of local artists (about three hundred) and knows their cost, setup needs, and tone.
  • Produced more than thirty medium to large scale, original events from the ground up.
  • Secured tens of thousands of dollars in advertisement, sponsorship, and investment funds.

STAGE MANAGER.

  • Stage managed over one-hundred events in the last 7 years, many which ran for a month or more at a time.
  • Has managed almost every art form on stage - all music and dance types, various theater stages, and live performances stages both inside and outside.
  • Knowledgeable in the various legal requirements and liabilities that are often worth considering.

Speaking voice

  • As a host, MC, podcaster and actor, Ryan has a developed speaking voice both on and off stage.
  • He is a natural orator, but has put in the time to develop his listening skills - all to make him a better conversationalist as a salesperson, manager, point of contact, and leader.

-HUMAN Skills-

Balanced.

  • Ryan does his best to carve out time to remain centered (Yoga, Meditation, Ritual, Fun, Personal) - which means that you get an even keeled, happy contractor. It also means that he does well under pressure, has no problems adjusting, and is happy to hear criticism.
  • A jack of all trades - if Ryan isn't familiar with a needed skillset, he will become so as quickly as he can.
  • Outside of work, runs in a variety of healing circles of every imagined modality - making him familiar with triggers and how to work with stressed out people or those who just want to be heard.

KIND.

  • As a lover of the great writer and mythologist Joseph Campbell, Ryan is willing to work with almost everyone. While many issues may seem as if they are unique, they are usually metaphors for a deeper, more common obstacle. Ryan's familiarity with the canon of those human stumbling blocks makes him a kind, open worker who will help those around him to work through whatever comes up.
  • Empathetic and Honest, Ryan a growing human being. He's always willing to hear people out and listen to the lessons that they may provide him on his journey of inner and outer growth.

ON POINT.

  • Ryan works hard. We've spent years making sure he's as prepared and as accurate in his time spent with clients as is humanly possible. He takes pride in this hard work, and is a point in the majority of feedback.
  • Leadership and Responsibility go hand in hand - which means that if Ryan could have possibly made your event or contracted work more efficient, he will. He's happy to debrief for the sake of both quality and metrics.
  • Planning things properly from the start creates a clear, coherent vision, which Ryan will execute his best. He is also experienced in event planning, and loves developing the most effective strategies before he hits the ground - and utilizes the strongest tactics once he's there.
